Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have a 99 TJ. Nothing but a 2" lift and larger tires. Do all TJ's get blown around on the highway by winds. I know they're light; is this just normal? It handles great on the road, just gets moved around a lot by wind. Thanks for any suggestions and answers.

Body Damage is Cool
Wranglers are high profile vehicles . . . the short answer is "yes", all Wranglers get blown around in high winds, especially at high vehicle speeds. Bigger and wider tires help somewhat, but slower speeds will keep the vehicle rubberside down 90% of the time.

Yeah, I know. A friend asked me what kind of gas mileage I get and I told him I didn't know - it was a jeep and mileage wasn't the issue. I've added something else to the list.. Wind is not the issue either.

When I was at Shepard (Wichita Falls, TX) for tech school, my friends and I snuck off-post to Dallas one weekend. That evening, on the way back, there was a 35-40 mph headwind (thanks, Oklahoma).

The top speed of my jeep was 35 mph (pedal floored) all the way back to base. We ended up getting back to base about 2 minutes before a dorm raid by the TIs to make sure everyone was where we were supposed to be.

Well, anyway, that's my wind story.
