That stinks.
My advice to anyone who does not have these t-case gears, is get yourself a set of them ASAP! They are by far the best enhancement on my rig (not stalling all the time is one of the most stress relieving things ever)!
Make sure that anyone who talks to Tera lets them know how PLEASED we all are with their products! They are GREAT! And thanks them for taking a chance on us!

Something is wrong in this picture. 'International' SUVs has been 'dead' for decades. There is still lots of aftermarket for the International. Internationals are typically made up of parts that are found on many, many other vehicles: Dana axles, Dana transfer cases, common transmissions etc. See how many performance engine parts you can find for a pure International engine. Isuzus are generally pure Isuzu. Nothing in common with other vehicle except for the 2.8 v6 engine and the Dana 44 axles in some of the later Amigo/Rodeos. Again it is just a numbers game. Steve G

Bummer
Although, I'm really only dissapointed about the 5.38's. I think they should still make them for the 12 bolt at least. Isuzu's ARE gaining popularity and some people have swapped these rears into their jeeps, toyotas, etc. mostly because they are big, durable, have disc brakes, have an arb available, and up until now, 5.38's to match to a dana44 front. I was gonna swap one for my 10 bolt, but now I don't know if I should. I will need lower gears when i SAS it next year.
The t-case gears dont bother me as much because I could never justify 800 dollars for less than 50% reduction.
I would be willing to dish out coin for a doubler kit, should one ever be produced.
And on the Isuzu is dead thing, big deal. the most poplular models of rigs on the trails are the ones that havent been made in 10-30 years. CJ's, YJ's, older XJ's, 80's toyota pickups and 4runners, old dodge, ford, and chevy trucks, etc. Most of the running gear of these trucks is not made by the factory anymore.
I think you can look at it as a good thing. We Isuzu enthusiasts are the new marketing execs of Isuzu. As long as we continue to show people that these rigs are great wheelers and workhorses and their popularity will continue to grow. And with sites like this one and the board on Pirate, our voices will be heard all over the world, not just the trails we frequent.
OK I'm done now I need to get back on the wrench

That changes a lot of my plans So I'm stuck with 4.56's and 2.0 low range That really makes me reconsider a lot of things What's the point of modding it if I'm stuck with 4.56's and a pathetic low range

*Ahem* (... in my best "Higgins" voice) OH ... MY ... GOD!! What's the point of modding it if I'm stuck with 4.56's and a pathetic low range From a guy with 4.30s and a "pathetic low range" of 2.0 ... :flip: :flip: ... I'd love 4.56s ... (I'd love 4.77s even more, but ... eh )... These are still DAMN good wheelin vehicles IMO. I'm sure that even those with 2.6s, 2.8s, 3.1s, etc. would say the same (not to even mention our nifty distributorless ignition, etc.). If you'd like to quit the game now, I'll swap my 4.30s for your 4.56s just before you sell it. PS Mepco (Tera's sister co.) still advertises the Isuzu 3.07 gears at a reduced price of $540. Not as good as the $399 quoted above, but I couldn't find that offer .

When I bought my 3.07's today, Sam's said that Tera only had 3 sets on the shelf after mine ships. Sam's Offroad number is 1-800-446-5503. Ask for John. He is a Trooper guy also. He said he has a 2001 with a few things done to it. Real nice guy.
Trooper has been sold!

NO I'm just bummed of all the aftermarket Isuzu's parts to discontinue why Tera? besides high axle gears and high low range just means more gas

5.38 gears increased my MPG. Try pushing 33s or 35s with a 2.6 I4 and stock gears, I was always down 1-2 gears from where I run now.
Offroad the 50% increase, that I see a few complaints about, it a wonderful thing. ALl I can say is "Try it before you say it should be more" It is enough to make a BIG difference.
I ran the 3.07s for a year before I added the 5.38s so I have seen the progression piece by piece. Each piece has been well worth it.

I'll have my installed and tested 10-bolt 5.38's and discontinued lock-right up for sale someday. Even if my plans for a SAS change and I end up having to sell the truck, you better believe I'll swipe whatever parts I can off of it and offer them here first.
PS - If the t-case gears are still available when I get my tax return, there will be one fewer set available.
I still don't understand why they are pulling the plug on this yet. They already have the R&D invested. The actual machining of the parts should be the easy part.

I still don't understand why they are pulling the plug on this yet. They already have the R&D invested. Just an FYI - Tera actually contracts the manufacturing of these parts with gears cutters. I have heard that the R/P gears are made in Italy and the t-case gears are cut by a local gears cutter - second hand info at best. But whatever the truth is they do not make these one set at a time. The only way to be cost effective is to make a small/medium quantity for each order. I don't know what cost vs retail is but figure they have to order at least 50 sets per order to get a decent price and this would be the low end. This is a chunk of cash out of pocket NOW that then sits on the shelf for how long? 1 year? 2 years? Say you need to sell half of the order to break even (probably more), that's a long term investment. Wholesale price is much less than retail, so payback cannot be calculated by retail costs. The products that they are still going to be selling probably turn over at a much higher profit margin because of lower production costs and their payback to break even probably comes much quicker. Tera is probably afraid that if they invested in another product run they may NEVER sell them. Look at the responses in this tread: " too little gain for the price!", "R&Ps much more expensive than others". Sorry if I mis-quote, I don't feel like going back through the whole thread to be that accurate but this is the impression that have from going through it over the last couple of days. From a business perspective, Tera has better places to invest their money. We can't blame them for making good business decisions can we? Steve G PS Another FYI, Tera did not just decide to make these products in the first place. Each product took at least 50 prepaid, preorders to get produced. Many people on this forum are the ones that put the cash out to turn these products into reality as short term as it may turn out to be.
