The axle gears, you'll wanna a 33"-35" for the 5.38s... depending on what your orginal tires size/gear ratio was. But less than a 33", you may be turning some high rpms on the highway.


Just as a data point: I had the stock 4.10's in my 3.2 auto Rodeo, went to 5.13's for my 35's. On the highway, it's just about perfect. With 5.38's, 37's would be my choice.
