Getting the Wheeling Fever
My a/c has not been working since the end of last summer but I put off fixing it over the winter since I was not using it. Now that it is beginning to get warm I really need to get the cold air blowing again. I had the system tested not too long ago and was informed the compressor did have a leak. I have a '91 22re motor running the old R12 refrigerant. I know I have some options in how to solve this problem by either converting to R134a or rebuilding/replacing the current comp with the R12. My question is, would it be easier to rebuild my current compressor and convert to 134, or buy a new one? If I do decide to go the route of buying a new or reman. one, where would be a good place to look w/a reasonable price? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the link to the thread and advice theif! Where would you recommend looking for a new or reman. compressor at a reasonable price? And where did you get the Freeze 12 and Duracool?? I went onto the Freeze 12 site but they dont have any dealers in Tx. Dont really want to order online if I can find either two products in a local store. Thanks a bunch for the help!!!

Check your local auto parts joints ie: auotzone, pepboys ect for that a/c pump. I can get em all day long out here in the local dismantlers yard for under $30 and all are in perfect condition.
