I tow my 4500lb 4Runner a few times a year, and hate wrapping the straps around the frame. Not being a welder, I'm trying to come up with a mount point that's strong and doesn't require welding. What do you think of using a u-bolt (NAPA 5/8" x 1.75" x 8") through the trailer frame like this:

The trailer is a 7000lb PJ.

Assuming the straps/chains are strong enough, will this keep the 4Runner on the trailer if I t-bone a bus load of nuns at 70mph?
