Hell, 17 psi you are barely aired down. Most of the guys I wheel with air up to 15-20 for the ride home. Last weekend down at the Toyota Jambo, most of the rigs had their tires down to 10 psi on the rocks, those w/o sticky tires had to go a little lower. For rock crawling my buddies usually run 10 psi in their MT's, in the snow as low as needed. With my At's I usually run 12-15 in the rocks and about 2-3 in the snow, sometimes as low as 1 psi. I have'nt popped a beed since going to a 10" wide rim, before the tens, I had popped about 8 beeds in the snow. The sidewall on MT's is a lot stiffer than AT's, to get good sidewall flex the MT's usually have to run a few psi lower than their AT counterparts. It is only a matter of when not, if you are going to pop a bead while wheeling. With the 15x10's you should be able to run 8-10 psi without running much risk of loosing the bead. You don't need to change out the tire if you pop a bead, just jack the truck up until the tire hangs free, and hit it with your onboard air. We have reset tires this wasy, that have popped both the inner and outer beads. Loosing a bead is nothing to be concerned about, once you fix your first one you wont mind the next one, or the next one, or the next.........

If you don't have an onboard air system, go to KMart/Walmart etc., buy yourself two of the 5 gal air tanks link them together and fill them at any gas station. The air should be enough to reset the bead. You can help seat the bead quicker with a ratchet tie down strap. Take the strap, wrap it around the tire and tighten it down until the tire starts to bow. The strap will help to push the beads outward, requiring less air to reseat the bead. The rachet strap works great when you peel both beads.<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
