Body Damage is Cool
Well, either there are legal loopholes in the descriptions between "switchblade knife" and "automatic knife", or the feds, nor any of the states that pirahna or any number of automatic knife makers sell to, give a hoot what they're selling. A quick check on ebay will net you lots of different autos. I know pirahna is closely monitored by someone!?(not sure if the state or the feds, but they do keep their nose very clean) In fact, they recently designed a "plunge" or "straight out the tip" opening knife, and were turned down by whoever it is that regulates them.

Yes... the osborne. Usually doesn't go for under $100! Its the knife I had my mind set on, but its too much for me right now. Thats why I was settled on the Cold Steel Recon. It seemed a good substitute.

On the subject of slipping through security, I had a serious brain fart at the Winter Olympics in SLC when I realized that I was carrying my knife. I slipped it in my wifes purse, which was hand inspected after going thru the metal detectors. I still have no idea how they didn't notice!!!

I carry an old Case XX that I got when my Father-in-law died back in 84. I don't know how long he carried it. It is 4 3/4 inches long when closed and has a 3 1/2 inch blade. I have carried it so long that when I carry my 3 1/2 inch Buck I feel like I forgot my knife.

I looked at all of the multi's and liked the Gerber the best. Hard to beat the 'one hand opening'.

I realy like my Gerber and get alot of use from it. I like the replacable saw blade, the spring loaded pliers, the locking tool feature. I just can't remember the model number.

same here but what ever brand you use its all ways good to have a back up. I have a buddy that keeps a small gas powered chain saw in his ride and that it no blade. You cant cut a steak with that. Some times I think his head is in his <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" />
