Well, didn't research thorougly enough and looks like I am stuck with a rear third for a Landcruiser. Has 4.9 : 1 with a True-Trac, got it on ebay. Seller didn't have all the specs and I bouced it off my mechanic who OK'ed it from the photos. What is the difference between a Landcruiser diff and a mini-truck one?

The land cruiser diff has a 9.5" ring gear and is offset to the passenger side. The mini rear diff has an 8" ring gear and I think it is centered.

Don't think I didn't consider it. Is the gearing actually 4.9:1 (haven't heard of that ratio) or is it 4.88:1? If only you had a front to match then we may be on to something. Just don't tell the wifey.

Double checked it, 49 on ring gear and 10 on pinion. There is a gear maker in my complex , went over and asked him if there were other factors. He confirmed that the gear count is what makes the ratio, so 4.9 : 1 it is.

Just got the third back from my mechanic. 12 mounting bolt holes, 12 ring gear bolts, did some research and 9.5" is the right diameter for Lancruiser. What style cruiser does this fit? For sale BTW, made a crate for it. Ready to go. PM for pictures .
