I first put my Michelins on when I had my 95 SR. I didn't notice any change in fuel economy...

31x10.50 is your STOCK size, you did not increase tire size! You might try searching for some basic info <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
1996 SR From the Area 51 Skunk Works. 37"BFG Tires, 5" lift, Rock Track 4:1 Case, Tom Woods Drive Shafts, Oasis Air, Front ARB, lifted gas tank, T-max winch and lots of stuff that cost too much.

Kary's right. You mentioned you already have that size on your rig in this thread. Here...You know that if the tire size say's 31x10.5 it means it will be 31 in diameter by 10.5 in width right? Even with tire size differences/tolerances it won't vary more than a half inch. What's the deal?

Tire rack said that the original equipement that comes on there is 235/75-15, so I got 31 x 10.5 x 15's

Wait. You mentioned the tire size you had was 31x10.5 previously and you're replacing with 31x10.5.
That means you're replacing with the same size tire.
Now there are some slight size differences between various brands or models due to how much rubber and how it cures but the difference isn't more than a 1/2" or so.
To get back to what you were asking about... if it would fit. I guess you can say that yes... it will fit. I'm not 100% sure but I believe you can get up to a 33" tire under there w/ a torsion bar lift. If not 33, definitely a 32.
