My 88 4runner is a DLX model and not the SR5. The temp gauge went out in the dash, and I found a whole new gauge cluster at a salvage yard for a good price. The new gauge is a SR5 style with the tach. Once installed everything worked as expected with the exception of the gas gauge. The gas gauge works, but its constantly moving up and down with the slosh of the fuel in the tank. Its very similar to my old 62 Volkswagon Gas gauge. Is this normal? Can it be fixed? Its not really a problem, rather an annoyance.
