No, I didn't check after I picked up the vehicle originally. I had supplied 2 quarts, and they stated thay had opened a third to top it off.

Balanced drive shaft? I don't know. Wouldnt that have caused noise/ vibration with the open diff as well prior to the installation?

Well, I don't know. Somewhere between sending and installation something got broke. Maybe the shippers dropped it, maybe Mechanic # 1 dropped it on the floor and decided to install anyway, maybe something got dried out inside while waiting. Who knows. I'll find out monday after the whole unit is put in with new pinion bearings and carrier bearings.
