Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hey all! I'm normally over on the mini-truck forum but I always like to take a peek at what the full-size guys are doing. Anyways on w/my question. My dad has a '96 T-100 2WD with the 3.4 V6 and a 5 speed. I drove his truck around the other day and couldn't help notice how rough it shifted. Several times I really had to mash the pedal and force it into 1st and reverse (maybe I'm not use to the stiffer pedal feel). He had his clutch replaced about 3 yrs ago along w/the master cylinder but its seems to be good w/ no slipping or power loss. I was thinking maybe the gear oil needed to be drained and refilled. I know the Redline MT-90 works really well in the mini's W56 tranny and was wondering if its what you guys use in the T-100's, or if you use something else. Any suggests would be much appreciated, Thanks!

I'd have to agree... I think it's a partial warranty item, isn't it?

btw... Same tranny in the T as in the mini

Same tranny as in the mini? Wow, I learn something new everyday from this board. I remember back when he had the clutch replaced 3 yrs ago it was for a similair symptoms (rough shifting). I know they ended replacing pretty much everything including a cracked firewall. The truck had to be towed and taken to the bodyshop for some of the repairs, I remember it took awhile. Well I'll talk to my dad about it if it gets any worse, but I'll keep your guys advice in mind. The truck has like 120K miles on it right now. But its kinda funny, I was reading the FAQ post on this board and noticed how many of those little problems my dads truck is having ie: seat belts tensioners, hood wobble, that annoying cup holder, hahaha anyway thanks for your help guys!

Yup, same tranny as the mini with V6 (R150-manual and A340-auto). Dunno what came with the T100's with the four cylinder.

Sorry I didn't clarify... The 6cyl trannies are the same; 4cyl are different.
