It took me less time (almost) to change the half shaft (passenger side outer of course) on the grass at night at the campground at Moab this year then it took me to read this thread. I carry both side spares which I have rebuilt when I break one for about $80 at Precision CV & Axle in Carson City NV.

PS To separate the upper Ball Joint, loosen nut until barely on then place jack under nut, just hit spindle (I mean really hit it) with a hand sledge)
