Spoiled Little Rich Kids? #448851 05/11/04 10:43 PM

So I am curious, it seems there was a negative bent after the new bike thread. Kunal has a new bike, a nice one at that. Now he is a spoiled rich kid and his dad got it for him?

What difference does it make? I don't feel that I have the right to pass judgment on someone if they have nice and cool things. So what if they do?

Yeah, I have seen the nice this or nice that threads when people get new stuff, but there seem to always be haters saying they did not "earn" it or they do not deserve it. I think that is a little presumptuous having not met the person.

Me, I go to school and know the value of a dollar. I have been blessed with many things that I can touch and many that I cannot. I also bought a blinging new softball bat with cash I had from doing some work for my uncle.

Discuss amongst yourselves. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I just thought if you really meant what you are saying, it would be important ot change the name of the topic.

Ignorance. Jealousy?

Hey, if someone is born into money, what's the problem? Their parents worked for it, their folks can enjoy it however they want.

I'd love to have a benefactor, nothing wrong with that. One can still be mature, responsible, and know the value of things - just as easily as someone can be a poor simple-minded village idiot who destroys others' property and cannot understand the value of anything.

It's not right to call someone spoiled if they truely appreciate what is given to them and they do work in return for it.

On the other hand, if they arent thankfull for what they are given or just simply expect to have things handed to them then yes they are spoiled.

I think its just more fustration than anything...I mean people like me gotta work our asses off and for what...sometimes its for nothing. Other people get stuff handed to them easily and then we get fustrated and say inappropriate things in the heat of the moment. That's my spill on it. Some obviously take how easy they got it for granted and don't think twice about their actions, remarks, or whatever it maybe.

Roll Me Over
it's because i am sick and tired of all the posts crying "poor, poor pitiful me". my life is terrible. nobody loves me. my parents forget my birthday (oh, but they got me a 2003 discovery and a 2003 bike). my girlfriend dumped me. all i hear is how terrible things are for the rich kid from brentwood. it gets old. his life looks pretty damn good to me.

........and to claim i know nothing about people being raised with money won't fly.

Wonder who that is? Does he frequent your store or something for you to know him?

Polymer, I will not say your judgment has been wasted on me. Your points carry weight, let the record reflect that.

Some have the world handed to them and realized they have been gifted. Others bemoan the fact they are choking on a golden spoon.

Fair? Interesting.

I too have been around those raised with money and handed the string to the world. Most of them are clueless turds. I also know some who have been given an easier go but have savored every minute and keep climbing with every once of strength.

I just think it curious on a board where people spend big bucks on modifying things that occasionally a lynch mob is formed to stand at registers and be sure everyone is paying with their own cash.

Body Damage is Cool
I don't care if Kunal paid for it or not. It's a cool bike and there are many motorheads on this site like me that would appreciate it. I might perceive it as showing off if he picked up his 58 megapixel camera and took photos of everything he owned...
