(Eric) has there been any talk of another RubiZu? I want to get out there bad. I won't formally organize another run, but if you make it out, I'll make it up to 'wheel with you, even if I have to walk. (Aaron) Some how managed to get pink dots on all my tires..... Not sure how that could have happened .... Randii? Not me... mine were the WHITE dots. Had a blast yet again this year! Thanks, all! Randii

Well... Friday on Golden Spike, I was the last of the five trucks to break. (There were only five trucks on the run!) I was trying (stupidly) to go up this relatively steep little hill. It didn't look hard for Mike (White 2nd gen Amigo) so I kept trying. Front and rear locked. I bumped it hard a few times and eventually got up. Only to hear on the landing (thats right, when I bumped it the last try I got a little air) a loud POP. Well I thought that was just the junk bouncing around in the back of the Amigo. Just a few feet further down the trail I start hearing (bang, bang, pop, bang... etc). I thought I had broken a tooth or two on the rear ring gear (since the rear end would drag and slid once in a while), but after taking the diff cover off and inspecting it the conclusion was that the locker (electric) had broken in a semi-open postion. How did that happen? Who knows? But thats how it is.
When I go straight down the road it rides okay, but when I turn at slow speeds it sounds like all hell is breaking loose. Banging and popping. Tires sometimes grabbing the road. It looks like I don't know how to drive a 5-speed! People at gas stations definitely looked at me funny when I tried driving in slowly.
So early Sunday morning at 5:35AM MDT I drove my truck away from the Moab playgrounds all loaded up with Debbie, my mom (Susan), and all my crap. I dropped my mom off at Denver airport at 11:30AM and Debbie and I proceeded east.
At 1:30AM in Illinois, I got off to get gas. When I got back on the highway the whole rear axle starting popping and jolting every few feet. So I had to get off the highway at the next exit. I found a small parking lot and did figure-8's both in forward and reverse in hopes to unlock the rear end a little. You know what! I worked for the most part. We were able to continue.
Driving straight through the night with Debbie driving a good portion (she is awesome isn't she?!!!) we arrived at the George Washington bridge in NYC at 7:35PM EDT Monday night. 36 hours straight! 2200 miles one way! With a nasty noisy truck! But we are home.
Thanks everyone for the great time! I will see you all next year!

Unlike years past, I managed to escape suffering any carnage while in Moab. That didn't seem to stop me getting voted third for most wrenching. How the heck does that happen? I also managed to get voted for one of the best stucks? Funny I remember driving out of my interesting predictiment. Shouldn't stucks require a winch or a strap by someone? Whatever.
The other award...well that won't happen again.

OK OK, I found something to add. While cleaning the underbelly of the truck I noticed I have a broke add-a-leaf. Have no idea when or where, just that it happened in Moab. So not too bad but I thought I made it away clean, but not quit.
Also, Randi, I heard I made good on the raffle. My bro should be sending the certificates, unless he sends me a picture of a new Dana60 under his jeep with a note saying I won nothing . All I can say is thanks Dallas, i will be getting together with you as soon as I get the certificates.
ps. I'm liking that word, RubiZu, might be up to running the Con if I get a locker.

The other award...well that won't happen again. I've been on "that trail" exactly one time. I was lost the entire time it seemed, and there were only 4 of us out there. Seems to me whoever has to lead a run there is going to be the candidate. All I can say, is "better you than me".

HunterD, how long was the drive? I want to make it to a moab but the drive is kinda discouraging. All in all it's about 32 - 36hr drive. well worth it, done it 5yrs now. You might have to add an hour so say 33hrs if all goes well. you MUST come out next year. You won't even notice how long the drive was once you arrive in Moab your first time. Thanks Dallas for the pic. I had many plans for pics with that link but got chatty at the ZuZoo fest and forgot. It's bent up so nicely it almost looks like it's ment to be that way. Jim, So very very glad to hear you made it home in one piece. All I can say is Welcome to ZuZoo where you never know what's gonna break. Thanks again Jeff and Dallas for getting us rolling. Randy! stop posting, get back in that garage and finish UZI! We really want to see it on a trail again soon.

The only things i broke were one winch rope, and my rear bumper is about to lose its side trim. Othere than that the sas was AWESOME! Oh, and the winch folded my bumper a little, but that was my fault. Lesson learned: never turn your winch on while the rope is wraped around your bumper. It IS strong enough to begin to taco it... oh well!

ps- when are we going 4 wheeling again?

I peeled open the front bushing of one of my radius arms. Randii's tellin everyone it happened going up the RTI ramp , but I think it happened earlier and just became obvious on the ramp. I like my story better. If this picture had sound, you'd hear me asking Dan, "Say, bud, I knew you pulled the 'articulation pin' but this hear looks a bit hinky." :p ![[Linked Image]](http://community.webshots.com/s/image13/1/56/71/144315671AQvJzT_ph.jpg) (in case the image fails to deliver, click here: http://community.webshots.com/photo/144313947/144315671AQvJzT ) Dan, your fab-work is so consistently flawless that I have very few opportunities to apply ribbing. Randii

The first day out I broke a CV on Kane Creek. Seems the lack of C clip and front locker are a bad combination. Thanks to Fernando I was able to get out of Kane Creek Canyon and thanks to Dallas for having a spare CV. Another thanks to Fernando who spent about three hours wrenching with me on Wednesday evening installing my new CV so I could run Flat Iron Mesa on Thursday.
I also lost a heater hose on the way to Moab. A little bit of Duct Tape stopped the leak and allowed me to get from Evergreen, CO to Moab where I installed a new heater hose.
