If you fill the AT with the engine off you will be right at 1 quart low. Just for grins I measured it twice when doing a couple of my tranny flushes. That being the case I don't see how you could have added that much fluid and not known if the tranny took it. Of course the obvious check is to pull the fill plug on a warm running tranny and see if fluid just drips out. If not you still need to add fluid. Is so do yourself a favor and buy a cheap handpump. That will make it easier to add fluid.

Also, I doubt any bubble would still be in there as you would have pushed it through/dissolved it when the tranny started up. Afterall your AT is itself a pump that pushes probably 14 qts of fluid through itself every couple of minutes or so.

How did the old fluid look? If bad, the new fluid could have dissolved years and years of accumlutated junk that has now lodged heaven only knows where.
