Lexus form really
took first place as an off-road machine. It has some funny
things, like automatic sway bars disconnect,
some sort of "diagonal" sway bars etc. And it has
lockers. No surprise it shined among stock vehicles.
But, for the price of Lexus... well, it should be competing
with something like MB Gelendwagen, not with a bare stock
Axiom.

See, I don't even think a Lexus should be tested or count. I have personally never seen a Lexus offroading. Ive never even seen a Lexus on a gravel road for that matter. I think you'd have to be real friggin rich and even more masochistic to take a $40,000 vehicle through a mud puddle up to the mirrors. I would do it though.... with someone else's Lexus.

you have to visit your local car dealers - they will give
you some update <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> $40K this is just the price of properly
loaded Jeep Grand Cherockee. If we rich guys <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> are
talking about Lexuses - then the figure will be MUCH
higher than just $40K.

For fear of being moderated AGAIN due to Jeep comments, there's no way in hell I'd spend 40 grand on a Jeep. But then again I wouldn;t spend over that on any SUV. Except maybe a Porshe Cayenne.

For fear of being moderated AGAIN due to Jeep comments

Remember where I suggested you place yourself in relation to the line? I suggest you re-evaluate where you are.

Remember, you were edited for bashing Jeeps and those who drive them, while also using profanity. Bashing, by definition is a personal attack and profanity IS NOT ACCEPTABLE here.

You could have bashed riders of Huffy bicycles, for all I care, but you would still have been going against how we do things around here. Get it? It is not about the Jeeps, it is about the content and basis of your comments.

Finally, I understand you feel oppressed and unfairly targeted by us moderators. It is simple, get over it. Public comments about moderation will not be tolerated. The above is such a comment. If you have anything further to say on the matter, please just send me a PM. I will be more than glad to explain it to you until I am blue in the face.

Michael

You know what, I'm done. The comment by Eric D. (over 5000 posts) was made in the "Let's Review the Rules" thread. It said that "now now, remember comments about moderation are also not allowed. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" />". Jezeric responded by saying..

"I certainly hope that you do not truly feel this is the case Eric. If someone has a question or a concern about the moderation of this board, I for one, and I expect my compatriots would feel similarly, would welcome a PM to open some discussion and interchange. What is not allowed is baiting and bashing of the moderator team and its members. This is not particularly different than the non-tolerance attitude this board has had toward group bashing of any sort for years.

If someone does have a concern, then as members of this community, and people interested in its development, we would be interested to hear what that concern is. If we truly were not willing to hear concerns or ideas, then posts like this, and others in the past would not be begun, and critical responses would be deleted immediately.

Please all note that the original intent of this post was to simply refresh the basic requirements of this forum. It was not posted specific response to any particular post or specific issue. If you personally feel that it was attacking you, that is unfortunate, but such is not the case."

-----

I comment and get a lecture? I'm sorry if I have offended anyone here or been "out of line" according to the 4x4wire TOS. If that's the case, I'm sorry.

---
MLCLARK - If you feel the need to moderate me that much, please tell me. I'll just leave and forget about it. I have not rude or offensive to you in any way, shape, or form. It's just honestly not worth it to deal with that much crap just because I feel like I can't say something I want to say. I have learned a lot from this board and thank almost everyone on here. I have met and become friends with one (chunky8). I know this knowledge wouldn't come from anywhere else either. I respect the wisest Isuzu posters on this board and it has helped to blossom my interest in off-roading. Thank you to everyone for that. I feel like this is the best forum on the net. Bar none. But if I feel like I can't say something, there's no need to be here. I'll just read from a guest's standpoint.

I guess this is good-bye all. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> and be good!

I wasn't originally going to post this, but I will. You wonder why I don't like Jeeps, mlclark? Because my 4 year old sister was hit, ran over, and killed by a guy in a Jeep. He spent no time in jail and he drove away in the sunset in his pretty little Jeep.

I know this is getting sticky.... but I have to say I already feel like family since finding/joining this forum not more than a week or two ago. Since then I've been spending endless hours on these pages, finding a WEALTH of information and, moreover, common ground with a bunch of guys/girls who live breathe and eat everything Isuzu. It pains me to see this kind of intolerance for each other; it sucks! To those from either side of the table, please don't take away the substance that makes us who we are and what we want to become. I've seen it happen elsewhere and once a forum is done, it's over, there are no more masters and no more desciples. So I am asking that everyone swallow their pride, take a deep breath, shake hands, and as much as I hate to myself, conform to the best interests of the community you are serving.
Thank You

5. Where is the whole bunch of modern 'crossovers' in the
"worst" category ? Do they really believe that
Toyota Highlander is better off-road than Explorer ?

You mean you think the Explorer is better off-road than a Highlander? Ummm.... Does that mean that a Subaru is better than a Rodeo?

Just curious. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

(feeble attempt at getting remotely on topic...)

I hope nobody hits the highway over this, but since you provided it for me to quote, I'll emphasize the part of James' excellently worded message:

I agree with what jezeric is saying here -- we want to hear what people have to say, but in order to have a real discussion, our experience is that comments are most effective when they come in as email or PM.

salb3039, your post just a few clicks up wouldn't have been out of line, were it not for the potshot at the moderators. The rest of that post is fine... FWIW, I wouldn't spend 40K on any new vehicle to play with off highway, not unless my income (and sensibilities) went WAY beyond where they are now! Heck, I'd love to drive a Porsche Cayenne, but I sure don't want to PAY for one! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I hope you stay and just self-moderate a bit. It really isn't a big change we're requesting -- just don't give too much noise to the guys in the control booth (and if you do, at least say it with some <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> smiley-faces <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" /> and give it a humorful zing).

Let's take this offline if you want to discuss it further: randii@4x4wire.com

I have enjoyed some of your posts, and appreciate your enthusiasm for Isuzus. It would be a shame to lose you as a member of this community... Also, sorry to hear about your sister.

I suppose yes, it's better. For one reason: Explorer
is a special SUV-dedicated platform. May be, not very good
platform, but dedicated one. It makes me feel
much better about Explorer than about Highlander, which
shares the same platform with some Lexuses and
with Camry.

Does that mean that a Subaru is better than a Rodeo?

You thought is too deep for simple me... What is the
relashipship between Explorer/Highlander and Subaru/Rodeo ?

Regards,
Oleg

Guys, everybody, just stay on board.

This board is fairly mild and friendly, let's tolerate each
other.
