Thanks. Those sound like the "wire rope clips" I've seen around. Convenient, but sacrifice 25% or so of the cable's strength. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" /> I'll try the place you mentioned for a sleeve (ferrule) and thimble kit.
