I get 13.5 MPG with my 94 Rodeo 35" tires SAS with 5.13 gears. K&N Filter too.
I have no idea if my MPG is good or bad for a 94 Rodeo 3.2L

I just travelled up state, about 525 miles round trip, mostly freeway. I kept my speed around 75 mph most of the way. I averaged 19.8 mpg. I was hoping for at least 22 mpg. But it still beats the 14 mpg I got with the 2.8L motor.<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
I modified my '90 trooper with a 3.4L gm and 4.3L TBI with 4.3L jets.

Trying to decide whether to replace noisy 3.1L with rebuilt 3.1 or goodwrench 3.4, in 91 4wd pup. Axle ratio is 4.3:1 and I run 31 or 33 inch tires. 3 in body lift and 2 inch suspension lift. 4.3L tbi and intake bored to match, are installed, plus super turbo muffler.
Read nomans post about improved mpg with 3.4, in 90 trooper. Amazing
Will I lose mpg or gain with 3.4? Best mpg with 3.1 has been 18 hiway.

If all you change is the engine and IF YOU CAN KEEP YOUR FOOT OUT OF IT, your milage may very well improve.

Prestolite used to make some higher resistance ignition cables, not sure if they would make up the difference or not.
As to better MPG. My '99 Rodeo was getting a round 17MPg until I noticed that the A/C compressor was running even with the A/C switch off. For some reason, so long as I keep the vent selector switched to the outside air (as opposed to the recirculate position) the compressor stays off and my milage is now 20MPG for a normal average week of driving.
