from what I understand a maf is basically a heating element that trys to hold a constant temp whem more air go through it has to try harder to stay at that temp. I suspect with your mod it has to try like heck to stay at that temp sending a signal to your computer saying need more gas to make up for all this extra air. Granatelli sells a upgrade maf for cold air intake systems to offset this occurance
