My girlfriend and I are taking a road trip next week (9th-15th) from down here in Florida up to North Carolina where my brother lives. Then we will head down to South Carolina to meet up with some of my girl's family, and finally to Six Flags of Georgia in Atlanta.
I'll be driving the CJ and wanted to know if there were any places you all though we should go to or stop by at? The Jeep will not be doing any serious offroading as it has to make it home so no carnage is allowed. Plus my front driveshaft went buh-bye on me so I'll only have 2 wheel drive, but with the ARB it's probably still capable. My girlfriend said that my driveshaft breaking was fate; "....now you can't get us into too much trouble or stranded far from home."......women <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
Holly Hill (near Charlotte) is where we will be in N.C. and S.C. I am not really sure exactly where we will be but I can find that out, then we will be in Atlanta and on home.
Any cool places, camping, trail rides (small), or whatever you all might recommend is appreciated.

Hey Bogger
I used to live in the Charlotte area and remember a really nice park near Charlotte called Cane Creek park (i think it was park maybe recreation area) anyway it's a really nice area to go camping, hiking, biking, as far as four wheeling goes, in the Carolinas just drive around country roads and you'll definately find some fun. If you up for the drive, Tellico is really fun. Depending on where you are it's about an hour or two from Charlotte. Sorry I can't provide more specifics but anyone with a mountain bike will know where Cane Creek is and anyone with a jeep near you can probably tell you how to get to Tellico.
Enjoy the trip

I'm from NC and my sister still lives in Charlotte. The traffic will kill ya', but there are a few good places to visit with a lady -
Carowinds - a huge amusement and water park and even though you're going to Six Flags in GA, this is definitely worth a visit
Discovery place - a HUGE science museum with a planetarium, acquariums an indoor rain forest. Way cool place for your inner geek
Verizon Wireless Amphitheater - lots of outdoor summer concerts. Maybe you could find a schedule online and see if anyone you two like is playing
Lake Norman, Lake Wylie and Mountain Island Lake - maybe rent a small boat or do some fishing from the banks?
My siter's husband used to ride mountain bikes with a group called the Tarheel Trailblazers. They had developed tons of bike trails in the area. I think they have a website too. Maybe bring or rent some mountain bikes?
I always take the wife to Carowinds and Discovery Place, she loves 'em. Hope this helps and that you have a safe trip!

Thanks for the info guys. My bro told me about that amusement park, and we will be going there. I was debating whether or not to take the mountain bikes on the back and now they will be taking the trip.
