i know there's a lot of posts out there about the different opinons of which muffler is better, but i was wondering if anyone could provide a sound byte sample of how their mufflers sound like on a 3.2 DOHC rodeo. i've heard pv's are deeper but also ricier while dynomax is mellower but not nearly as loud. But it's all in perspective. i'm still a young buck so i like the louder and deeper tone. Anyone have any updates to how their mufflers have aged(especially those with pv).

Getting the Wheeling Fever

The Dynomax is relatively quiet for a free flow muffler. I constantly get drowned out by stock durangos and subarus. I got it cuz I feared the others (flowmaster, pv etc) would be too loud, but I wouldn't mind something a tad louder than this. It did get a little louder when I modded the air box though.

The 20" Super Turbo is "mellow-loud", but the 14" Super Turbo is almost as loud as the Powervault. I tried them both on my Trooper and was very happy with the bigger Super Turbo. Personally I find the PV too loud, but it is certainly subjective and I wouldn't criticize anyone who wanted that volume.

I had a Dynomax Super Turbo recently crack(4 yrs) so I replaced it. Muffler shop suggested either FlowMaster(50 series) or Magnaflow....with their rec being the Flowmaster. They put each on so I could listen and compare.
I really like the Flow, even better than the SuperTurbo. It is quiet at low RPMS and has a throatier sound in mid range. All in all, very nice. Plus, like getting new sneakers, my rig can now run faster!

After 9 months with the PV the sound has mellowed, but it is still very loud. If you are a music fan, don't get one, because you won't hear your stereo.
I like mine, and I definitly saw power and mileage improvements with it, but I may replace it with something a little bit less noisy.
