Since this post is going in a couple of directions, I thought I'd give it a final (death) twist??
It is related...floors in a CJ. My CJ-5 had a back seat that was just bolted through the sheet metal of the floor. I took it out and am putting in a Tuffy box for most of the time. There were 3 holes along the back and two farther up that have nuts welded onto them from below so are threaded. I tapped them out and they work great. I would like to get a seat set up so I can pull the Tuffy box and pop it in if needed. I assume the three way rear threaded holes were for seat belts. The two more forward ones seem pretty forward for a seat. How are those rear seats secured in there originally? If bolted through the sheet metal, it would seem you'd want a backer plate or something? Any info. would be appreciated.
Thanks!!
