Inside your distributor there is something called a signal pickup. It mounts to the bottom of the inside of the distributor and has the wires that pass through the body to the outside...should have a green plug. You need to check the air gap between the 4 pointed signal rotor and the little metal signal pickup that the wires go into. If you are feeling a "speedbump" at all 4 ignition points...I think you have no air gap. To adjust you loosen the mounting screws and open or shut the gap with a flat tip screwdriver. Picture is of the signal pickup.
