Searched and came up empty handed...maybe Im not using the right words. Someone has to be fed up leaving their lights on b/c there is no buzzer when you turn the truck off...Ive done it 3 times in the 3 weeks Ive owned it. Ive caught myself each time...but its only a matter of time before I don't. Should be fairly simple though...does anyone have a diagram for it or a writeup of some sort?

I dont know where the write-up is but all you have to do is get a cheap piezo buzzer from radio shack compatible with 12vdc and wire the positive lead of the buzzer to the positive wire of the marker light and the negative lead to the ground door jamb button. Now, only when the lights are on and you open the door the buzzer will sound.

Hope this helps,
Buddy

My '85 (SR5) has the light reminder relay, in the dash along with the key light. Maybe you are just missing that relay.

KEY LIGHT? You got a key light?

I got a '94 and the dome is fried and I ain't got no key light!....So I scratch my dash stabbing at the hole.

I want a key light.

The dome I will fix with one of 4Crawlers LED set ups, but it will be switched only. All I want to work off the door is a key light.

Every 4runner i've looked at with cruise has the keylight, yet ones without have that little plastic cover...

Hrmm...I dont have the key light (no cruise control either). Do you know if the light reminder buzzer is the same one that buzzes when you start the truck (seat belt reminder I guess)? Then yeah...Im probably just missing the relay. Key light would be great as well...there is mod 1 and 2.

This was part of the cruise control package?

Looks like the key light is part of the cruise control switch module. According to the wiring diagram, light is controlled by the headlight reminder relay but it appears they are separate. Not sure where that relay is located.

As far as humanly possible from the headlights and switch, from what I can tell. The FSM shows it above the passenger kick panel. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
