There was a time when frams were crap and seemed somewhat hollow, but for at least the last year, they have outperformed any offering my local dealerships have had. Fram is a large company (Allied Signal) and to loose their corner of the filtering market would hurt, I think they investigated a drop in sales, polled the consumer and made some changes. No anti-drain back valve? Them filters must have been weeeeery old. Hell even the cheapass no-name green filter that came on my 81' Celica had an anti-drainback valve. This day and age, a company cant stay competitive with a sub-par product. Cut open a Toyota-filter...the standard one that dealerships sell and use without specifying special order. You will find a filter identical to a purolater under the cool black paint.
Fram for this kid until I have one piss me off. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
