When i drive my 91 2.8 V6 trooper the transmssion starts out in first then goes to third without going into second but if yu give it some gas it will drop down into second and go. the transmission does not slip or anything. What could cause this? Thanks for the help

I dont know how the autos work (electric or vacuum shift) if its vacuum check the shift modulator if its electric <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />sorry <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> don't know a thing about those trans <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I think my power and winter switches had sodapop spilled on them. And my tranny sometimes does random things like that. Possible the switches are bad. I think we can unplug the switches, and be ok for testing the theory out. I have not tried it yet.

looks like you just answered your own questio <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />n. Winter mode puts your tranny into 3rd gear and keeps it there. This prevens your car from spinning its wheels in the snow. take them off and clean them and i bet it will work
