Sam's club is the cheapest place I have seen unless you know someone who works at a tire shop. They have a good road hazard plan with tires too.

I would agree. Get the MT/R's. You will not regret it.

I can't say as I think the MT\R's are worth the money. I say that as a mudder, not a rock crawler.

I'm a bit cheap so I got Wild Country mud's, they work great and were about $100 per. Friends that I wheel with have that Walmart mud (can't think of what it's called) and it's got a nice tread pattern, comes with a great warranty and is inexpensive.

Somebody's never run anything but street tires.

Run a set of swampers with 10 PSI in them, and your whole baseline for comparison will change.

Anyways, about the MT/RS: Yes, they're very good all-around tires. I've noticed (having put over 20K on a set of 33" MT/Rs and having 4 buddies who've run others) that the 33 and smaller ones wear much better than the 35+ sizes. The 33s were like IRON - still had 80% tread with over 25,000 miles on them, on 2 different trucks.

Here's my toy now, and with the lil' 33s from back in the day. In the MT/R pics, those are 15x8 wheels with 3.75" backspacing on an IFS front end...

I don't understand what you mean, TNToy, by your comment. Please clarify on "someone has never run anything by street tires" because if you are talking about me, you are mistaken.
Please visit my website and check out the ZR2 pages.

EDIT 01: Oh, I see. Because I don't have the same tires as you, my tires are crap? *street tires*!!??

Dude, I run 12 psi in these and they serve me well. I don't claim that they are better than any tire but I've driven into many a mud-hole and pulled out trucks that were stuck. Since you seem to know these tires so well to call them *streets* then surely you have owned a set?

Thank you for your time and consideration. smile

Here's my experience in a nutshell: typical "mud" tires like the BFG MT and Goodyear MT/R really, really suck in mud. The thinner-sidewalled tires with slightly more aggressive tread patterns like yours, Grabber MTs, and Uniroal Laredo MTs are a step up from that.

But neither one is anything like a tire that has "Swamper" molded into the sidewall. Anything else is a street tire.
