I beleive someone said the part new was $233. I doesn't seem like this is a common part that needs to be replaced. What do you guys think about buying it from a yard. If so, do I need to get one from a 5 speed w/ cruiz control like mine or will any do. Thanks

Sid

Are you talking about the steering stabilizer?

Or are you talking about a vsv ? If thats what you are talking about - I have some junkyard vsv's on my truck with no problems.

Dunno, can't believe it's a VSV; I just replaced one on my A/C and the part was $30. $233 is making somebody rich (not me!)

VSS - Vehicle Speed Sensor?

I'd be willing to try a junkyard part at those prices. Not sure about needing one from a similar tranny and cruise option but I would think that the connector would be a good indicator. The only issue I would see would be if the gearing was different from auto to manual or if the connector has extra positions for the cruise control.

I would go junk yard in a heartbeat. Not exactly and item that fails a lot. However, it probably will be trans specific (I am guessing at that).

Thank you. I was talking about the vechile speed sensor. My speedometer went out after I blew a ground wire on the back of the gauge cluser.
I have a 5 speed w/ cruiz control w/ larger than stock tires (31's) and regeared to 4.88.
Thanks for the help.
