How did you manage to wipe your cam out? As far as how many times can cams be swapped while leaving the head inplace...couldnt tell you since Ive never done it. I know people have done fine doing a one-time change over. Im swapping in a variation of Engnbldr's 261C this next week, but I'll be pulling the head since the engine has less than 250 miles on it. I cant see any reason to take short cuts since we are recording test data of stock vs. a new "wonder what would happen if I ..." camshaft.
The more times clamping pressure is released and then reapplied compromises the HG's ability to seal. Give her a shot, worse scenario is taking it bake apart and fixing it..provided you arent far away from home.
