Does anyone know where I could get a snorkel ram? I am trying to build my own snorkel for my rodeo, but I'd like to use a commercial ram on top. I can't find any distributers that sell just the ram.

well dude, if you can build the rest, you can probably come up with something cooler than the ram used on most snorkels! it seems like it'd be more work than it's worth to get hold of a commercial ram, they're prolly overpriced.

ARB sells the ram for their safari snorkel seperately.

YES, I personally called ARB to inquire about the ram. They DO sell just the ram. It costs $50 for the 3" and $60 for the 3.5". (ID) If you are going to use 3" PVC pipe the OD of that is 3.5" exactly.
I've done my homework. I've got plans!!!!!

I know this sounds crazy, but the local boat shop sells a crome air scoop for the deck or side of a boat. It is to provide air to the engine compartment via a 3.5" hose. Looks really nice, is about the size as a ram and costs $19.00. I know it sounds crazy, but I was already looking at them for my "someday" snorkle.

The reason that I like the ram head is for the increased air flow to the engine. With the ram head facing forward like that, it will actually force air into the engine. Kinda like a hood scoop.
As for that boat scoop, does it have specific name?

Hey, the boat things are called "COWL VENTILATOR". This site has TWO of them on this page, along with other items, so scroll down. http://www.theshadconnection.com/cgi-bin/page.cgi?page=178The ones in my local store are a little different, but you can get the idea.
