This is the first time I've ever seen a spun carrier bearing on any differnetial, foreign or domestic. The inner race on the ring gear side of the LSD had obviously been spun for awhile. Didn't discover it until I pulled the old bearing off. I was going to set up my spare front center section with the Starion LSD and the 5.29s, but I guess its back to looking for another 88-89 starquest LSD...

Anyone ever seen this problem on a Mitsu unit? I'm guessing that bearing preload was too tight and/or the unit was run with too little or broken down gear lube. I didn't see the ring and pinion to look for a poor setup or anything like that (I received only the LSD itself). Or maybe the guy liked to do lots of burnouts...
