I really want to get rid of the restricting stock air intake and put in something thats going to give me some better performance. I have a 95 4.0 and I have been leaning towards Turbo City's Rock-it air tube. The only thing is that I do not like is how the placement of the tube puts the concial filter right above the engine pulling in super hot air. Does anybody have this setup? Does it make a big difference? I was also looking at the K&N filter which is more of a cold air intake, placing the filter in corner by the jack. Still the tube goes up over the enigine, allowing all the air pulled in to get heated up. Anyone have any suggestions?

how often do you run the engine at 5000 RPM ? the only time the intake ever becomes restrictive is above 5000RPM and its not restricted by the filter, instead the throttle body does all the restriction. and since the engine red lines around 5200 and i beilieve thats where they put the rev limiter. the only time those intakes help is if you are running a very agressive cam or a turbo/super charger. save your money, buy some tires.

Yea i don't run around 5000 rpm that often. What about a high flow throttle body along with a new air intake?

I have some fairly new BF goodrich all terrain ta's...maybe ill save the money and put some lift on my truck. I don't wanna go too big...2.5"-3" suspesion...any reccomendations on the best bang for my buck?

Yeah, me too! I have about the same suggestion Sunder has.. The engine is engineered to do exactly what it needs to do in normal driveing. If you do not plan on takeing it to the strip, track, then leave all the engine parts alone. If you do put anything larger on the intake side then you also must replace the exhaust side to get the intake stuff to work... However if you do these things the engine will not perform as well at your present uses as it does now.
Get some lift! Get some lockers! Get some HUGE tires! How about some chrome hinges?
But leave that nice engine alone.

My only answer will be that I DO NOT allow archers on it!
Some f the finest heads I have seen were shot by archers and wondered off and died for the coyotes to feast on. Bows and arrows have been outdated for 300 years.
