I was looking at ordering a set of 4.7 to 1 transfer case gears from Marlin Crawler, the only problem is I have a chain driven tcase in my '92 pickup with a 22re. I was woundering if a gear driven case would be a direct swap or is it the same as the v6.

Adam.

Body Damage is Cool
The gear drive RF1A case (21 spline) came with the 22RE. The VF1A chain drive case (23 spline) came with the V6.

What makes you think it's a chain drive?

A small number of late model 22re 4Runners did come with chain drive cases. This application used a G58 transmission. We have an adapter plate that will allow single or dual 4cyl gear drive case(s) to bolt onto the back of the G58. The adapter is $349.
