Additional question: What year and models where included in the toyota head gasket recall? All 3.4L engines? 4runners, tacos, T100s?
thanks!

Oh yeah .. and don't forget that one up above ^ .. it'd be nice to get a T from one of the guys on this post, at least you know they take care of their trucks.
I'd trust one of these guys before someone on eBay or a stealership.

I've got some 'splainin' to do. 1st off, thanks to all for their insight, offers, help and gun comments. I just purchased a '99 Taco SR5, TRD last night. Got a pretty good deal on it. That coupled with the it was in the same state as me, coupled with my wife likes Tacomas, coupled with it was excactly what I was looking for, just not a T100. I don't feel I am settling for the taco at all. Just would have loved to found a T that would have covered the above mentioned. Never-ther-less, again, I sincerely appreciate your teachings on the T. Now I will just be driving its little brother...

That's funny. I thought that truck looked familiar, and sure enough this guy here said he had bought that truck several weeks ago. Guess the deal fell through. Still seems like a great price for the miles even with the dings and dents. Guess newbie's not gonna sweat it since he has a nice new taco -
