So it sounds like the carrier, carrier bearings, the center hole in the ring gear and the bolt holes that hold the ring gear on are the same between both the front and the rear.

At least here in the US, the axle splines were the same both front and rear for the first few years that the Sportage was sold here. Sometime before 1999, the rear axles were changed to a larger 28 spline. My Sportage has the 28 spline rear axles.

What year Sportage did you put a rear differental into the front?
