What we don't know yet is if the rear pinion gear will fit into the front third member housing and mesh properly with the rear 7.5" ring gear. If it will fit, then you could get a rear R&P and an Eaton 26 spline LSD and re-use your front housings.


R&P would have to be changed as a pair

The tooth spacing on the ring would be (7/7.5) times larger if you had the same number of teeth. You would be using the very edge of the 7" pinion (away from the diff) to drive the ring if it meshed at all. The only way that it could obviously have been done would be to put the 7.5" R&P into the 7" case, assuming the pinion bearings fit.
