Getting the Wheeling Fever
I was reading about the budget rear lift using 2nd gen monty rear coils. But in the article the subject was a swb monty. Will the same springs have the same effect on a 89 lwb? Thanks.

Indeed. Since I wrote that article, I changed to a LWB, and put GenII springs under it. Budget lift again. Need to update the article... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/coolg.gif" alt="" />

$75! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> mine were $100 <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
I've had them on for a couple of months now. They are from a 2000. Love the ride and the added clearance. The new are an inch or so shorter than the stock so they go in easy. The challenge is getting the rear end high enough to get the stock springs out, High Lift? (I used my tractor)
Make sure you block the wheels and secure the frame rails real well once you achieve the needed height as you will be in harms way should it fall.
I also added 2" coil spacers. For those I needed a spring compressor and the passenger side was a challenge with the exhaust in the way. I also had to disconnect the shocks.
Good Luck
Bob

The springs I bought were off a 94, Installation was easy, I just loosened off the lower shock mount, took off the sway bar altogether, and jacked it to the sky. Out with the old , in with the new. I gained about 1.5 inches. I was expecting about an inch more, but the ride was improved dramatically, and it leveled out the rear. With a full tank of fuel it sets a little low. While installing these springs I realized how much articulation that the rear of the monty is capable of. The only downfall is shock travel. I'm not sure if this issue has been addressed here, but I'll be looking into a shock upgrade to gain full potential of the rear. I'm thinking of istalling limiting straps and working up a new shock mounting system to utilize a long travel shock. We'll see, I'll keep you posted
