Did a test a lunch today using my Scantool. I watched the TPS%, IAT, RPM, and MAF readings. I happened to notice that when at idle the Scantool shows fluctuating between 680-700 RPM which is about normal, but yet the tachometer shows only 350RPM ??? Not a good thing. Glancing at the Scantool while going down the road (I know, not safe)I only show the RPM about 1100-1200 RPM going 45MPH roughly. I know the computer is showing the RPM readings correct from the Scantool at the OBD-II port but is there some other system link or sensor on the engine that controls another signal input for the engine management as well as the tachometer? If the engine RPMs are reading all wrong then that would explain the engine dying out as something thinks it has reached redline possibly. Maybe it is a fluke that a sensor has gone bad just when I happened to clean everything out this past weekend. I do not have the FSM for the electrical so I cannot look it up. Any help would be appreciated if someone has the FSM they could look this up in.

Thanks ...
