if i'm not mistaken there's a good hot wire under the dash that's for the cruise control option. it's black with a yellow strip on the right hand side of the steering wheel. i had my hood lights, and trail lights on it. give that a shot.

Rob, where'd you put the 2 Gal tank? In the rear of the Sportage?
Just wondering in case we get the ARB deal with the Sportages to go through.

The ARB compressors use about 20 amps and produce about 45 liters/min.
The bigger the reciever, the longer it takes to charge and the longer it takes to fill your tires once you have used what is in the reciever ie. reciever + tire volume up to your tyre pressure. 2 gallons is good for one or maybe two tire pressure top-ups, after that you are "running on empty" then only charging it up to your tire pressure anyway between tires. Given that we usually have to inflate 4 tires, seems pointless (you can always blow a bead with another tire if you have a valve-valve link hose). Best bet is for one decent compressor for you tires (mine is 72 litres/min = 2.5 cubic ft/min), with the ARB as a backup permanantly connected to lockers. The ARB compressors are only 33-50% duty cycled. Don't bother with a reciever unless you HAVE to use air tools out on the trail.

Morgan, Gary is correct about the tank not being needed.
1st To answer the ? I ended up mounting it inside the rig on the tool box, was going to mount it to the inside of the left frame rail behind the center X-Member. Then I would of had to move/replace the Exhaust and it would of been in harms way.
2nd The ARB compressor is not very quick to fill tires with, nor will it run air tools without a tank. I also don't trust the compressor as my only source of air to the ARB's.
3rd I carry & use a 20lb CO2 bottle for refilling tires. I made a short connector hose to go from the CO2 bottle to the tank. This way if the compressor dies I can still run the lockers.
The lockers need 80lbs minimum to 105 maximum psi. With the tank installed the compressor will not have to cycle as much to keep pressure.
I will send some pics of the install later

Can't wait to see the pictures of your install. Been thinking of doing the same thing for an on board air system, but would like to do this at the same time I install ARB air lockers front and rear in my stock running gear. Provided we get ARB to make them for us.
BTW, when are we going to see picturers of your rig in action?

First of all, Work got in the way right after I started this Build, went from #3 to #2, so extra strees there. Then I got Major burnout on it for the most part, Feburary thru June including two 1 week vacations in there working on it. Then got Major $$$ issues = like ran out. I have gone a little=OK, {{Way}} over the Budget & don't wanna start shortcutting things. My P-N-P adventure didn't go over so well for the rear E-Brake brackets. I need to get back out there for more. As for the Air system, the tank is waiting to be mounted, and 1 more mounting bracket for the CO2 tank. The dash can be reinstalled after I run wiring for the horn, since I changed the steering wheel & got rid of the airbag it hasn't worked. The clockspring runs the horn wiring thru it, now it will be on the dash. I got the GPS hard wired so I don't have to depend on AA battery power for that any longer. I might pull the CD player out & have it cleaned prior to reinstalling the dash also = trail dust inside wont feed the CDs in anymore. I sold my Blazer & part of the deal was a set of new Swampers, the Guy keeps dinkin me around & I need the tires before I build the spare carrier. A few more details like wiring the second Optima, Isolator switch, the 5lb Argon tank needs mounted, also the idea of Exto Roll cage came to mind recently? Might just build it inside? I did a mock up of the Exto last week on paper & not sure if I like it. I will be ready for the next wheeling season for sure. It is not going to be the Mud runner it used to be, I'm sure the himes joints wont like that. I did however find dust boots for them a couple of weeks ago, but that would require disassemble of everything again. This did not start out as a quicky SAS & it wont be finished ASAP just to get it done. So since the play time is over {Summer} I might get to tinker some more soon on it.
