figuring your gas mileage/distance traveled from stock is about 9-10% more on your odometer with 285/75/16s. For example, if your odometer reads 200 miles when you go to fill up, figure your mileage at 220 miles. Stock tires are 9-10% smaller in circumference and that's how you figure it out.

I get about 280 miles out of a tank and then add about 16.5 gallons which comes out to about 16.9 miles/gallon. With the larger tires, the ACTUAL distance traveled is about 308 which is about 18.6 miles/gallon. (larger tires = further distance traveled. 29" tires (i think that is stock) compared to 33" tires in circumfrence is about 9-10% smaller.

Yes, you loose noticeable power but thatÆs a given. You can regear to get back to your ôstockö acceleration but that will cost a nice chunk of change.

The best mileage i got out of my 4Runner with 285/75/16s was around 19.5mpg when I set my cruise at a painful 55mph and did not go over. Although I got much better gas mileage, it wasn't worth getting passed by everyone and taking an extra hour to get to where I was going.
