Hello.

I have been wanting to buy a Trooper for about two years now, and now it looks like I will finaly have the $ to buy one. However in my hunt for the perfect trooper I have come up with many questions that I think would probably be answered quickly on someones webpage somewhere. So what are some good websites (Besides this one and ITOG). This one sure is awesome, but the more the better.

I'm looking for information on what features came with the LS (i.e. was the DOHC 3.2L Standard with this package?), what packages heated seats came with (and when they became avaliable, and if they were avaliable with the 5-Speed), when the A/C became CFC-Free (Answered on this site, thank you!), what types of lift kits are avaliable for troopers (All I have found is the CALMINI one, and I'm looking for something that I could fit 33's with, more like a 3"-4" im guessing instead of 1.75"-2").

Basically I'm trying to find out if in 1993/1994 they made a DOHC 3.2L / 5-Speed / Heated Seat / Air Conditioned Trooper. Thats my dream trooper. So far I haven't found a trooper thus configured, the 5-Speeds seem rare, which sucks because I really dislike auto's. I spend 4 months of the year in -20 degree celcuis weather, and it gets down to -45 some nights, so I would really like the heated seats.

phew, this turned into a long post... thanks for reading,

Cheers

Edmunds.com is a good site to check the standard and optional equipment on vehicles back to 1990 or so. For the lift you can combine OME coil springs with spacers from independent4x.com to get a 3-4 inch lift. Good luck finding your Trooper. We don't need heated seats in Texas.

Thanks for all the great sites guys! They answered almost all my questions... although I still cant seem to find any info on when the heated seats became avaliable. Anyone add them aftermarket?

Now to continue the hunt for the perfect trooper! smile

Well, when the weather is this for weeks on end, you'll wish you had heated seats, trust me

[Linked Image]

My friend had heated seats in his VW, they were a godsend in this weather, as the heater in the vehicle doesn't work for like 15mins, so the heated seats are all you have for a while. As well, in this weather the seats freeze solid (i.e. aren't cushy, like sitting on a rock, or a giant ice cube), so the heated seats are sweet because they thaw out the seats.

I know it may sound a bit dumb but I would really like the heated seats if I can find them .

my '97 has them. my ideal trooper would be a '95 5-speed because of the increased track and dash revision in '95 and the lack of shift-on-the fly. ideally, i'm looking to keep the critical bits as simple as possible. the heated seats are nice though. i have a fantasy of keeping the '97 so i can swap out the power seats, seat heaters, retracting sideview mirrors, and door handles to the '95...someday, maybe.

my 93 had retracting side mirrors. I don't think its a feature specific to 97+

Got Yogurt...my 93 has a spot in the fuse panel labeled "seat heater". It doesn't actually have the heater, but it seems logical to assume that it was available in '93.
