Drtdevl, Indy and Esquire812- Thank you!
I bought the distributor cap, rotor, plugs and rotor at Bob Bridge Toyota and installed them in about 20 minutes. My truck runs better than ever! I am so pissed at Toyota of Lake City, I'm going to write the owner a letter. Here's what the service letter says:
"Plugs oil fouled, should replace wires, needs engine repair work. Car is burning oil. The cause of the hesitation appears to be the air flow meter. Customer declined repairs at this time". (repairs to the tune of $850 for the meter and 2K for the rebuild).
Thanks again.
Mark

"Appears to be the air flow meter..." So one can presume perhaps the mechanic didn't check the ECU for codes? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />Engine light doesn't have to be present....hmmmmmm.....
