Well started on installing my 1.5 balljoint spacers today. Finished with the grinding, however I can't seem to gain enough clearance between the upper control arm and the balljoint to slip it back in with the spacer on top. Not anything like the clearance shown on this page http://www.amug.org/~sschaefer/san_diego_off_road_solutions_.htmlHow do I do this? Thanks

Try taking the nut off the top of your shock and the nut off the bottom of your sway bar end link and let everything drop down a little bit with a jack until it all slides in.

Did you remove the tension on the torsion bars?

No, how would i do that? I have already knocked out the original studs, so i was thinking about putting the new ones in, and putting the tires back on the truck. then placing something between the upper control arm and the bumpstop. Hows that sound? Anything better/easier?

Try taking the nut off the top of your shock and the nut off the bottom of your sway bar end link and let everything drop down a little bit with a jack until it all slides in. Yep, this is what I did. I also stuffed some scrap steel tubing between the upper A-arms and their bumpstops so that they wouldn't droop so much when I jacked the rig up. With the shocks disconnected at the top, and the upper A-arms wedged so they don't drop, the lower arms should drop more than enough.
