Any one have experience with new Toyo Open Country M/T
[Linked Image]
I saw them at Kaufman tires and they looked pretty cool. The sidewall was very stiff and firm, i think firmer than my MT/R. I need to replace my MT/R in next month and I am debating between Open Country M/T or MT/R(I liked them a lot) Anyone knows what is the price for Toyo? in 285/75/16

Thanks,

I don't think that size is available yet. Right now they only come in 35"s and bigger.

Check out their website.

I hope you can get the Toyo tires in the right size and try them out.

I have the MT/R tires now. FANTASTIC off road. Traction is unreal, but I simply can not stand how they make the truck shake going down the highway.

I will for sure get something different next time and that Toyo tire looks like a nice one. The siping will give better wet road traction then the MT/R and I think Toyo has a good rep for making the tires round, something that GY can't seem to do in a truck tire.

Hey Gadget,
If i remember correctly you even had to shave some of the thread to make them more round. I didn't realy have that much balancing problem with my MT/R and I really like how they perform off-road. Yesterday i talked with a guy from www.aor4x4.com and they were working with Toyo to develop this tires for past 2 years. He told me that the sidewall of new Toyo is as strong as MT/R, the traction is great if not better and the road noise is so much better than MT/R, he definitely recommend them to people who want to try something different and as good as MT/R. I looked on Toyo website and looks like 285/75/16 should come out in 4th Quarter. I hope my current tires will live till that time.

I don't have experience with the M/T tires but I do have Toyo's A/T on my Tacoma and BFG's on my 4runner and I can say this, the Toyo's take much less lead to balance my rims and ride a lot smoother on the highway than the BFG's. As soon as my BFG's wear down I'm going with Toyo's on my 4runner.

hope that helps ya, good luck

Also if I remember correctly I thought Toyo had a 30 day FREE ride. If for any reason you did not like the tires you could return them and put the money towards another purchase? you may want to check that out too? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Try out the Toyo's, Paul. I just got some BFG's and I like them a lot.

When are you and Marc going riding again?

Tell Marc he owes me a beer!
