Getting the Wheeling Fever
|
The original shocks finally blew out on my 91 4Runner. (Should have replaced them a long time ago) Four Wheel Parts wants $86 ea for them, but I dont want to buy from them. Where are you guys buying your Rancho 9000's, and what are the best prices? Thanks!!

I was running 9000s on my rig until I broke a rear shock in Death Valley a couple of years ago. I gave it thought and since I rarely ran the 9000s off of setting "3" I just opted to get two new 5000s for the rear (I read where 5000s are at about the "3" setting of the 9000 anyway). Much less $$$$ and I like them fine. I still have 9000s in the front, but if/when I break them I probably would go to 5000s in the front, too. Just my few cents worth here. I need to save bucks for other stuff.... Got the 2 5000s for less than one 9000 btw.

I 2nd the 5000's, I've been pretty happy with mine. Got 'em at Sears on sale for $35ea a while back. I've seen ads for about the same price recently so keep an eye out.

Unfortunately there's no 4wheel parts near me and Sears is crappy about replacement stuff. I had an alignment shop crank my torsion bars all the way up and dent my front Ranchos on the bumpstop mount (morons) and I couldnt get 'em replaced at Sears. They're all rusty too, but they won't replace 'em for that either 'cause they still work fine.

Yeah, will 4WP replace when they're rusted up and bashed to $&!T? The rear one broke the weld on the lower mount and flopped around until it was scrap metal....
