Roll Me Over
As of 10pm tonight, I finished dropping the engine in. Bellhousing, mounts, and torqe converter are all bolted up. Everything looks good. The garage is once again a huge mess. Tomorrow begins bolting the rest of it up, fluid check, prime, and hopefully zoom-zoom. Once I get it started, I'll be spending this whole weekend breaking it in and hopefully not just breaking it.

This is Raider the 4th (by engine). Let's hope this one lasts!

I'm currently on the final part of installing the engine: installing the exhaust pipes. Guess what? Jasper sent the wrong sized gaskets with the kit. No gasket - no go. I cannot begin to describe the anger I feel right now. If there were a Jasper rep present at the moment, I would be guilty of murder.

Jeez, what a crappy operation. Doug - the gaskets on mistuparts.net total $30, maybe something they have at Napa?

Well, someone from Jasper decided to stay late to help me out. They've tracked down a set of gaskets at their warehouse in Washington state. They will be sent to me Fed-Ex next day air with Saturday delivery. I think that kind of shipping is slightly less than $100.

I've got two bets going here:
#1: Fed-Ex screws up and loses the shipment
#2: The package arrives here tomorrow as it should, with the same incorrect gaskets as I already have.

Anybody else wanna place a bet?

EDIT: Wow, I've never been able to feel the blood vessles in my temples before.
