It is not illegal unless it goes to the point of being threatening. Years ago I used to work for a customer service center and the only time someone broke the law was if they threatened to blow us up or kill us. If we decided to prosecute every person who called us nasty names we would have had no customers. I agree with the others that Doug is just venting, and rightly so.
