I got a free t-case a while ago and this funky adapter was bolted to it. I don't know what tranny it's supposed to be used with and there are no markings on the casting at all. The T-case is a gear driven, top shifter. Pics,

Based on calls to AA and Downey, it's not for a Chevy tranny. Ford maybe, I don't know? Anyone have an idea?

judging by the spline relief on the transfer case, that looks like the tailhousing of an L43 transmission from a '79-80 truck

I would agree. However I have not seen one myself, only descriptions of the T case. Did you post on Marlins site, He stops in every now and then and he would know.

BTW if what I have been told is right the 79 Tcases spline don't neck down like the later models. If that is corect yours should look like an axle, not with a narrow part like mine. [Linked Image]
Yes this one has been replaced. So now everything in the driveline has been replaces on my truck now except the shifter knobs.

Thanks for the info. I totally forgot about Marlin's board, I'll check there as well.
