is there an adapter that allows one to run a stock yota drive shaft to a dana 44?

yup, high angle driveline makes a pinion flange that replaces the yoke on a dana 44

I run the Dana 60 flanges so I could keep my Toyota driveshafts and I flat out love them. Hard to swallow the initial price, but you get to keep superior U joints that are stronger and capable of more angularity.

Wow, if that's the case then the price has dropped substantially in the last 2 years. I seem to recall the 44 to Toy flange adapter being something like $160 when I called Jess about it back then. At that point I just elected to get a hybrid shaft from him with a 44 joint on one end and the toyota CV on the other. At $99 I would definitely go with the all toyota driveshaft and adapter flange.

Yes, the prices have dropped considerably, and just recently.

I've been running one of Jess's Dana44/Toy flanges in my HO 4Runner for over a year but I can't recall what it cost back then. An excellent product which makes it easy to swap a Toy axle back in if ever needed.

Two more choices to think about:

1.
Swap the D44 yoke with an Isuzu D44 pinion flange (about $45 new from St. Charles) and an Isuzu driveshaft flange (you've probaly already got one from your original driveline). You need a flange for an Isuzu u-joint (inside snaprings), not a 1310 u-joint (outside snaprings). Isuzu used both. The Isuzu driveshaft flange will fit the Toy u-joints and bolt right up the the D44 pinion flange.

Pic: This one went on my Dana 300, which has the same splines as the D44 pinion:

2.
Use a 1310 / Toy conversion u-joint from Rockford driveline. Take off the flange and u-joint from the Toy driveshaft and use this one to connect it to a 1310 D44 yoke (assuming the D44 has 1310 yokes of course).
